NATA(National Aptitude Test in Architecture) is the national level aptitude examination conducted by the Council of Architecture. Candidates interested in taking admission in Bachelor of Architecture are advised to apply for NATA 2017. NATA score cards are considered by various government and private colleges or universities for admission in B.Arch programme. From 2017 onwards, NATA exam will be conducted once in a year on 16th April 2017 via offline mode. NATA 2017 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Candidates should have completed or appearing 12th or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a mandatory subject to apply for NATA.
  • International Baccalaureate diploma passed/appearing after 10th are also eligible to apply.
  • There is no lateral admission criteria for admission in any stage/year of B.Arch.
  • Minimum age limit to apply for NATA is 17 years as on 31st July 2017.

NATA 2017 EXAM PATTERN:

The NATA exam consists of three parts i.e., Mathematics, General Aptitude & Drawing. The examination comprises a total of 62 questions. The examination duration is 3 hours. 2 marks Will be awarded for every correct answer attempted and there is no mark will be deducted for the wrong answer attempted. NATA 2017 APPLICATION:

The NATA 2017 application process has been started from 2nd January 2017 and will be opened till 2nd February 2017. The application form should be filled and submitted only through the website.Candidates have to upload the scanned images of photograph, signature and thumb impression.There is no need to send the application by post.

APPLICATION FEE:

  • Applicants need to pay Rs.1250/- as the application fee and payment should be done through online mode.
  • Application fee candidates need to use Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.
  • Applicants selecting for exam city Dubai should pay an additional examination fee of INR 7000 prior to issuance of admit card.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

  • Visit the official website of the examination authority www.nata.nic.in.
  • Click on the link of Application form for NATA 2017.
  • Enter all the required details in the given form.
  • Pay the application fee and submit the form.
  • Upload the scanned documents (photograph, signature, and thumb impression).
  • After successful submission, get a hard copy of the application for further use.

NATA 2017 EXAMINATION SYLLABUS:

The NATA syllabus comprises of three parts, i.e. Drawing, Mathematics & General Aptitude. The drawing test will measure the ability to sketch a given object, understanding of proportion and scale, etc. The detailed syllabus is given below:

Mathematics:
  • Algebra,
  • Logarithms,
  • Matrices,
  • Coordinate Geometry & 3-Dimensional Co-ordinate geometry,
  • Trigonometry,
  • Theory of Calculus,
  • Permutation and combination,
  • Application of Calculus,
  • Statistics
  • Probability
General Aptitude:
  • Objects, textures related to architecture & built environment.
  • Interpretation of pictorial compositions.
  • visualizing three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawing.
  • Analytical reasoning, mental ability (visual, numerical and verbal) awareness of national/international architects and their creations.
  • Visualizing different sides of 3D objects.
Drawing:
  • Understanding scale and proportion of objects, geometric composition, shape, building forms and elements, aesthetics, colour texture, harmony and contrast.
  • Drawing of patterns – both geometrical and abstract.
  • Conceptualization and visualization.
  • Form transformations in 2D and 3D like union, subtraction, rotation, surfaces and volumes.
  • Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shape and forms.
  • Generating plan, elevation, and 3D views of objects.
  • Perspective drawing, sketching of urban scape and landscape.

NATA 2017 ADMIT CARD:

The admit card for NATA 2017 is released in the month of March 2017, Admit Card can be directly from here once it is released officially.Admit card will contain candidate details such as test date, time of the test, test center, roll number, etc. Admit Card/ Appointment Voucher is necessary to bring along with ID Proof at the examination center.

NATA 2017 RESULT:

The candidates can check NATA results from the official website. The scorecard can be downloaded from the website by the fourth working day after the test. The original mark sheet can be retrieved by any admission authority directly from NATA server. The NATA 2017 score card will be valid up to 2 years from the date of the last test taken. Candidates have to obtain minimum 25% marks in MCQ section (30 out of 120) & 25% aggregate in Drawing portion (20 out of 80).
