The Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of most important MBA entrance exam conducted by IIM’s every year. CAT 2016 was going to be conducted by IIM Bangalore last year it was conducted by IIM Ahmedabad. Every year CAT will through some surprises over aspirants with its change in pattern. This year is also expected to be changed in the test pattern. Last year also CAT pattern was changed by introducing sectional test limit to each and every section, the number of sections was increased from two to three and Non-MCQ’s were also introduced. Aspirants are anticipated about the changes in the pattern this year.

CAT official notification was supposed to be released in the last week. But due to some unknown reasons notification got delayed by one week. It was known that CAT convenor was going to release official notification on July 31st, 2016. CAT notification will be released in all leading newspapers and aspirants can check through official website i.e.,

CAT application process might from 1st week of August and exam date was yet to know. IIFT,SNAP,XAT exams are already announced the examination dates. CAT convenor has to fix a date which was flexible to all aspirants. We are expecting that exam will be going to conduct in the second week of November. It was less than 4 months left for CAT examination. We suggest aspirants to take some serious attention towards the preparation.

CAT Exam Pattern:

In CAT 2015, a total number of sections were 3 which consists of Verbal Ability Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability. Sectional Time limit to each & every section was 60 Minutes. Total CAT 2015 time limit comprising of 3 hours which was given 1 hour for each section. In every section 8-10 Non-MCQ’s were given for which students need to type the answer from the virtual keyword. First time in CAT history, Scientific Calculator was provided in CAT 2015.

What changes can we expect in CAT 2016?

According to the CAT experts, It was told that sectional time limit was to be removed in CAT 2016. Sections clubbing or it might increase from 3 to 4 can be expected CAT 2016 which may not remain to 3.
