AFCAT examination is held on February 26,2017. AFCAT 1 is the examination for admission to Flying, Technical and Ground Duty Branches of Indian Air Force.  The AFCAT 1 Application Form is released in December and June.

AFCAT 2017 Answer Key – Live Analysis & Expected Cutoffs

AFCAT examination is conducted for admission to Flying, Technical and Ground Duty Branches of Indian Air Force.AFCAT exam is followed by a EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) esp. candidates applying for technical duty, EKT increased the competition ratio among the candidates appearing for the exam. EKT is based on the branch of the candidate during graduation.So, It is important for the candidates to balance and focus on both tests. Candidates should have knowledge with the previous year question papers, cut off marks etc,  This makes a candidate easy to crack the AFCAT examination. Since the examination is only 2 hours candidates should more concentrate on speed and accuracy of solving the questions.

The examination was for 120 minutes, a total of 100 questions with +3 marks for correct answer and -1 for each incorrect answer.Here, questions according to the topic are given below.

  • English– 25 Questions
  • Non-verbal Reasoning– 18 Questions
  • General Knowledge– 25 Questions
  • Mathematics– 18 Questions
  • Venn diagrams– 4 Questions
  • Verbal reasoning– 10 Questions

The difficulty level of the examination is moderate and candidates prepared well for the examination can attempt all the questions in the stipulated time. Some questions were tricky in English and General Knowledge questions are mostly from the current affairs.

The EKT examination is to test the technical knowledge in the respective domain of knowledge.EKT examination consists of maximum marks of 150. The cut-off marks for EKT examination depends upon the graduation branch. The below mentioned are the cut off marks for the last  2 years.
