AFCAT 1 is the examination for admission to Flying, Technical and Ground Duty Branches of Indian Air Force. The AFCAT 1 Application Form is released in December and June.
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria should only apply for the entrance examination. The Application Form of the candidates who does not meet the eligibility criteria will be rejected by the authority. AFCAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria as per Age Limit and educational qualification is different for the different branches. Before applying, the candidates should read thoroughly the Eligibility norms.Candidates appearing in final year/semester examination can apply for all courses provided they fulfill the conditions.

AFCAT 1 2017 – Application Procedure
- The Candidates will have to register themselves before filling up the Application Form.
- The first time users will have to register themselves by entering details such as Name, Date of Birth, email ID and other details.
- Candidates should fill up other details of the Application Form.
- Candidates should pay the requisite Application Fees.(Only online payment)
- Upload scanned copy of photograph and other relevant documents.
- Submit the Application Form
AFCAT1 Eligibility Criteria 2017
Candidates interested in applying for the exam should fulfill the necessary eligibility criteria as laid down under the notification.
Age Limit: The candidates applying for the flying branch course should be in the age group of 20 to 24 years. However, those applying for Technical Branch should be in the age group of 20 to 26 years. For Ground Duty Branches, the candidates age should be 20 to 26 years.
Educational Qualification:
Flying Branch – Graduates with minimum three year degree course in any discipline from a recognized university. The candidates should have attained a minimum 60 %marks in all papers and have passed maths and physics at 10+2 level. Or the candidates should possess a BE/B.Tech degree from a recognized university with minimum 60 %marks in aggregate.
Technical Branch – Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) – Candidates applying for AE (L) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognized university or have cleared examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.
Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): Candidates applying for AE (M) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree from a recognized University or have cleared examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies.
Ground Duty Branches

Candidates applying for administration and logistics branch should possess a graduate degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60 % marks in aggregate of all papers put together or a Post Graduate Degree/equivalent Diploma in any discipline with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate of all papers put together.

For accounts branch, the candidates must have a graduate degree in Commerce (B.Com) with minimum three year degree course with a minimum of 60 % marks in aggregate of all papers put together or Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (M.Com) / CA/ ICWA with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.

For education Branch, post graduate degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate of all papers put together.
AFCAT Exam Centers 2017
The candidates will be allotted AFCAT Exam Centers 2017 as per their choice subjected to the availability of vacancy at that center.
AFCAT Admit Card 2017
All the eligible candidates will be issued Admit Card for the written examination.Candidates must carry Admit Card and a Valid Photo identity card such as passport, driving license, voter identity card, college identity card or any other valid photo identity proof while reporting for AFCAT and for SSB Interview at Air Force Selection Board. The AFCAT Admit Card 2017 which is attested at the AFCAT center is to be carried for the SSB Interview.
