To be fair, I was into the brief HBO ball Carnivale, but fantasy is absolutely hit or absence with me. Carnivale formed because it was a big ensemble with an absorbing ambiance and arresting patriotism area abracadabra was added of an anathema than a gift. But just because I like one fantasy thing, doesn’t beggarly I will like all fantasy things. If Carnival Row turns out to be a big ensemble with an absorbing ambiance and an arresting premise—cool. But if it turns out to be a clumsy apologue for avant-garde issues—not as air-conditioned (see also: Bright). A fifteen-second brain-teaser is not about abundant to apperceive whether or not Carnival Row is travelling to be account our time. Post-Game of Thrones, we accept a fantasy ball abandoned to fill. Will Carnival Row be the appearance to ample it? Something tells me carnivals + Victoriana + fantasy is travelling to about-face out to be VERY niche, but we’ll see.
